2001 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE
- 92 points - The Wine Advocate, 2005 Northern California Report. “The finest Cabernet Sauvignon I have tasted from Silverado, it boasts an opulent, full-bodied texture loads of black currant, plum, beautiful length and tremendous purity.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
- 91 points - Wine Spectator, 2004 “Smooth, rich and generous, this unfolds gracefully to reveal layers of ripe plum, black cherry, spice and cedary oak…excellent balance. Drink now through 20012.”
1999 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 94 points - Wine Spectator, 2002 “A ripe, plush, richly fruity style, with tiers of concentrated blackberry, black cherry and boysenberry flavors, shaded by toasty, mocha scented oak and finishing with firm, ripe tannins and a long detailed finish.. Best from 2004 through 2012”
1997 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 93 points - Wine Spectator, 2000 “Sleek and elegant, rich and polished, with a pretty array of herb, black cherry, mint, wild berry, chocolate, anise and tar, finishing with firm yet supple tannins. Best from 2002 to 2012”
1995 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 95 points - Wine Spectator, 1998 “A bold, dramatic expression of Cabernet, as this wine usually is. Packed with rich, complex currant, black cherry, plum, anise and spicy nuances, hints of tar, cedar, sage and vanilla, and finishing with a lingering aftertaste and finely honed tannins. Best from 2000 to 2007.”
1994 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 93 points - Wine Spectator, 1997 “A California Cabernet that will knock your socks off. Bold, rich and gushing with flavor. It’s highly extracted, and leaves a long, rich aftertaste. Drinks well now, will be even better from 2000 to 2002. Highly recommended.”
1993 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 90 points - Wine Spectator, 1997 “A solid effort, with a tight band of herb, currant and cherry, plum and currant aromas and flavors. Well balanced, with pleasing dash of toasty oak, it holds together nicely on the finish. With its tannic strength, best to try after 1999.”
1991 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 93 points - Wine Spectator, 1994 “Cellar Selection. Ripe, complex, with tiers of black cherry, plum and currant aromas and flavors. Gains richness on the palate, revealing uncommon depth and concentration, finishing with firm tannins and a long, rich aftertaste.”
1990 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 97 points - Wine Spectator, 1993 “The silky, supple, opulent character of this Cabernet makes it the hottest wine of the vintage so far. Silverado has been on a roll since its first Limited Reserve Cabernet in 1986, having established a luscious style that ranks among California’s most distinctive and appealing.”
1987 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 96 points - Wine Spectator, 1997 “An exotic style, rich in flavor, texture and body, with layers of ripe currant, black cherry, anise, mint, sage and tea, finishing with supple tannins and a long lingering aftertaste.”
1986 CABERNET SAUVIGNON LIMITED RESERVE - 97 points - Wine Spectator, 1996 “This lived up to its billing, and may well be the wine of the vintage. It’s ultra-rich, deep and complex, loaded with cassis, currant, plum, and black cherry flavors.”
