Note From Jo ~

After spending five weeks in Ft. Lewis, Washington during December and January with our new grandson, though difficult to leave, I was very glad to return to home, hearth and hubby in Napa Valley. Less snow, a lot less rain and more great wine!  We toasted to the “New Year” and anticipate a very busy 2008, with many trips to the great Northwest (and Toys-R-Us).

Besides being a Leap year, an election year, and the 50th anniversary of LEGOS, 2008 should prove to be an exciting year for wine club members. We have some great events planned, fantastic shipments and exclusive wines created by our winemaker, Jon Emmerich, and his staff.

January started with two days of a Lobster Feast – lots of fun and only one small food fight!  February was our annual Valentine Dinner Dance.  Lots of swirling and twirling during the evening, and an engagement!  There is a wine club dinner planned in Chicago, April 19. Our Events Department has added some awesome cooking classes, which are scheduled for May 4, June 8 and September 7. Class size limited to 10-12 participants.  Cost is $199 per person, for an all day, very hands-on experience – a tour of the winery, a sea salt tasting and five course meal paired with Silverado wine. Mmmm, can I come and taste your creations?

The Visitors Center has fabulous Library Tastings available and Vineyard Tours, weather permitting.  Come and get up close and personal with the vines, walk through that special block in the vineyard where your favorite Cabernet Sauvignon begins. Whether in the vineyards or relaxing on our terrace, basking in the sunshine and taking in the spectacular view, the entire hospitality staff looks forward to your visits in the new year.
