2008 Estate Chardonnay

Which wines go best with fish and shellfish?

"Trout with browned butter: A big, creamy, oaky New World chardonnay is the perfect partner to rich, nutty browned butter sauce." Silverado Vineyards Chardonnay is... "Rich with creamy brown toffee aromas."

2006 Estate Merlot - 92 Points

"Silverado has done Merlot well, ..."

"...Merlot from the Napa Valley is different from most other Merlot's produced in California, the good ones anyway. What they have that others lack is structure. A good Napa Valley Merlot is a complete wine, with upfront sweet fruit on the entry, weight on the mid-palate and juicy fruit through the finish. Silverado has always done Merlot well, and this '06 is no exception. Aromas of plum, blueberry and blackberry are fresh and vibrant, the fruit is concentrated and layered, and the tannins are long and smooth, with a judicious amount of spicy oak in the background. Absolutely delicious. 92 Points"

2006 SOLO - 92 Points

"...strength to go the distance."

“This has the richness of humus and freshly turned earth, its tannin dark, savory and intensely mineral, as black as iron filings. The space between the layers of tannin is filled with ripe cherry flavor, a fruitiness with more than enough strength to go the distance, needing years or a thick sirloin to completely surround the structure of the wine. 92 Points”

2006 SOLO Cabernet Sauvignon - 94 Points

"...a stylistic, flavorful, elegant,..."

"The 2006 Solo has a dense purple color, a big, sweet nose of lead pencil shavings intermixed with crème de cassis, new saddle leather, charcoal, and spice box. Its brilliant delineation and full-bodied texture, with nothing out of place in a seamless integration of all its building blocks make for a stylistic, flavorful, elegant, yet powerful wine to drink over the next 20-25 years."
